Digital Scrapping: Me and You

Not done too much digital scrapping, but I like playing with the free kits that you can download from SHABBY PRINCESS they release a new free kit every so often and I think it is great to see if you like it or not. I like how it is quick and how it is easy and NO MESS!

So you may or may not remember my first effort at digi-scrapping - sadly I was limited on products as I hadn't discovered Shabby Princess...and boy can you tell it! But still, it helped me learn how "layering" works in a graphics package - incidentally don't listen to digi-scrap blogs that say you HAVE to have photoshop elements or photoshop to work the layering, you can download PAINT.NET for FREE. It is like a glorified paint that comes free with Windows but has most of the functionality of Photoshop elements but much more simplified and ideal for someone starting to digi-scrap and trying to find if they like it. Anyway I digress, here is the terrible effort. I can't even re-post it it is that bad!

Then I found shabby princess. This was effort 2 which I thought was an improvement:

....then this was my third effort. This one is the first 8" x 8" I have done and it looks really sharp when it is printed. It looks more like a magazine though when I print on glossy, and lacks the feel of a scrapbook, so I think whilst I like the ease of digi-scrapping I might give hybrid a go and see what I think, even just adding ribbon here and there might help! Sorry that I have blurred things out but I don't post pics of me/family here. It is a nice close up shot taken by a professional at a friends wedding. The swirls are my favourite, I love the way they are subtle on the background paper!
